I don’t know how y’all have conversations with people who believe your words of disagreement with their words are potentially deadly.

Conversations with people who think a disagreement of words is the leading cause of their death is a non-starter for me.

I’m a lefty Christian.

Black & Woman.

Chronic ill ish

Mom of a Black man

Survivor of violence & abuse….etc. etc. etc.

People disagree with me ALL the time…and that’s before you leave the family

Many women come into this world equipped to do a lot of miraculous & wondrous things, but ending male violence against women isn’t one of them.

We need men to end violence against males.

Why can’t “I” be in your healing group too?

No one likes to feel left out.

BUT, as a safe space facilitator, I can tell you, people want to heal where they feel likely to have select parts of their life experiences understood without having to:

explain it

validate ppl outside of that experience

have people who have no material experience with their own material reality trying to change their minds about what they are experiencing.

Or meet with resistance to common experiences & beliefs of ppl like them.

Girls still learning & accepting their own bodies and their individual female body functions deserve privacy, dignity & safety at the very least.

Others do too, so build more spaces for others too.

Pay attention to who gets to defend themselves w/deadly force if necessary. .

… who gets to set boundaries w/o consequences.

….who gets praised for guarding themselves.

…whose tears are seen & heard.

…who gets to be considered innocent.

…whose innocence is valued.
