You say,
“Well, women will be raped anyway…”
as if that justifies handing predators the keys
to every room we bled to build.
You say,
“What’s the difference? Bad men are everywhere…”
So you swing the doors open wider
and call that progress?
No. That’s betrayal dressed up in buzzwords.
If we’re “raped anyway,”
why are you not fighting harder to stop it?
Why aren’t you guarding our spaces
instead of giving them away
to anyone who demands entry
and dares to say “woman”?
This is not liberation.
This is surrender.
This is handing over the fort
and blaming the ones who built it.
We don’t stop fire
by pouring gasoline in the hallway.
We don’t stop rape
by dissolving the boundaries
that have barely held up as it is.
No—
If women are at risk everywhere,
you don’t erase our sanctuaries.
You multiply them.
You protect them.
You honor them.
You fight like hell for them.
Because we were never meant
to live life on our knees,
clutching pepper spray
and begging for mercy
in rooms built for men’s comfort.
We were meant to rise,
not be reasoned away
as acceptable losses.
