It Won’t Stop Until Everyone Steps In—Including Men

Violence and abuse don’t just happen in a vacuum. They happen in a world that stays silent, makes excuses, or shrugs its shoulders when it should rise up.

And here’s the hard truth:
Most of the violence in this country is committed by men.

We don’t say that to shame. We say it to tell the truth.
Because nothing changes when we avoid the truth.

  • In 2023, 69% of violent crimes in the U.S. were committed by men.

  • 93.6% of sexual abuse offenders were male—a number that includes harm against both adults and children.

  • Nearly 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 13 boys in the U.S. will experience child sexual abuse.

  • On college campuses, over 1 in 4 women report experiencing rape or assault.

  • 91% of family annihilators—those who kill their entire families—are men.

  • And 95–96% of school shooters are male.

So here’s our question:
Where are the men who say they care?
We don’t mean those who post a hashtag once.
We don’t mean those who shake their heads and say, “That’s a shame.”
We mean the ones who are willing to go deeper.

How many men are actively learning what many women, advocates, and Survivors have spent lifetimes learning?
How many are willing to sit in the discomfort of the truth and stay present long enough to grow?
How many are ready to stop standing on the sidelines?

Because this isn’t about guilt. This is about responsibility.
About choosing something different.
About putting love into action.

We need men to:

  • Learn the patterns of abuse. The signs. The systems. The silence.

  • Call out violence and entitlement—even when it’s in your circle.

  • Protect survivors. Believe us. Support us. Stand with us.

  • Stay engaged. Not just for one campaign, one protest, or one heartbreak. But for life.

This isn’t just a women’s issue.
This is a community issue. A human issue. A legacy issue.

Abuse will not end until everyone—especially men—gets involved.

So if you’re a man reading this:
We’re not asking you to be perfect.
We’re asking you to be present.

To be someone who learns.
To be someone who listens.
To be someone who protects.

Because the future is watching. And safety must be built—intentionally, together.

Share if you feel safe and ready—your voice might be the lifeline someone else needs.
And if you do share, remember to cite the messenger.
Words carry legacy.
