…About as gross as repeating ignorant & hateful talking points about Black women and Black girls who use as some “social justice” gotcha. No matter how noble you think you’re being, the purpose is to inflict pain & harm on a specific group for your own beliefs.
Those same Black women wouldn’t think to make content repeating hate & ignorance targeting other groups (Jews, Muslims, disabled, Native Americans etc..) as an alleged “social justice” gotcha.
Black women do this to other Black women knowing better than anyone that there will always be too few coming to our defense.
The nastiest thoughts about us are applauded and go viral. People who ain’t us do it all the time.
I say all of this with empathy for all of us. Racism, misogyny, sexism…scars you & changes you.
I still work to unearth & unlearn what has been embedded in me, about me, by this world.
Like every other human being, I haven’t always gotten it right. But keep trying to do better, be better, & live better.
Avoid using the rusty weapons you know all too well to hurt other people because they don’t agree with you.
Respecting BW/BG means respecting that we will not always agree. That’s how it goes down when you have 8 billion human beings on a planet at the same time.
Do something different..respect Black women & Black girls.
