On 5/28/23 I posted about one of the worst murder cases seen in Nevada casino history. The murder of little Sherrice Iverson.

“Do not make it easier for males to be in isolated spaces with helpless little girls & do God knows what to them.

Make every girl safer so she can grow up to be a healthy woman.”

We speak for the hundreds of millions of women and girls who are silenced in one way or another daily. Prioritizing the most physically vulnerable-the children, the elderly, and those with physically limiting & mental disabilities- will never be allowed in a world that prioritizes “feelings”.

We remember Sherrice Iverson, a 7-year-old Black girl whose life was stolen in 1997 Her story is a haunting reminder that the lives of girls are not protected by telling them to “be kind,” “be nice,” or “don’t make a fuss.”

What our girls need is safety. They need adults who will listen to them, believe them, and act. We must shift our energy away from teaching girls to silence themselves for the comfort of others, and put it where it belongs: on protecting children from predators and holding harm doers accountable.
