“We were told repeatedly, that these things “never happen.”
Denial, name-calling, shaming, blaming, minimizing, and pretending not to see harm being done-the old reliable blind eye. Familiar too is the tiptoeing around the feelings of people who violate others. The protection wrapped around abusive behaviors while demonizing the victims. The silence.

Wherever the adults in the room are we need them now. Women and girls need, require, and must have safe spaces for our survival. It is too fragile and important to be played with like this.

Women and girls need and require single-sex spaces for the preservation of safety, dignity, and privacy.

It is wrong to make women and girls more unsafe because a male feels too unsafe to be amongst his male peers.

At some point, we have to require changed behavior from males so that all persons can feel safe, not just certain males.

How far will this go before people admit that they were dangerously wrong and start making life-saving changes?
