Black women speaking about maternal death are not “race baiting.” This is a call-out of minimization, deflection, and tone policing when mothers and babies are dying.

We can remind leaders who call for empathy and compassion for women that we need them to prioritize the life and death of pregnant women including healthcare, financial resources, affordable housing, and transportation.
