The internet is full of people who think that offering opinions on a Survivor’s choices is the same as offering help.
It’s not.

You weren’t there.
You didn’t live it.
And you don’t get to decide what she should’ve done when the walls were closing in.

This is not your courtroom.
This is her life. Her trauma. Her survival.

You say she should’ve left sooner.
You say she should’ve stayed silent.
You say she should’ve spoken louder.
You say she should’ve fought back.
You say she should’ve calmed down.

You say a lot.
But you do very little.

You weren’t the one hiding bruises from coworkers.
You weren’t the one learning how to sleep with one ear open.
You weren’t the one trying to keep kids safe, keep a job, and keep from breaking down in the cereal aisle.

So let’s be clear:
Your opinion isn’t justice.
Your critique isn’t clarity.
Your “questions” aren’t protection.

You are not her judge.
You are not her helper.
You are not her savior.

And if you’re not here to protect, then step back.
Because Survivors around the world are done explaining themselves to people who only show up when it’s time to dissect them—not defend them.

We will not be silent.
We will not shrink.
We will not accept shame in the name of accountability.

Survivors owe you nothing.
Not even their story.
Not even their silence.

🖤 WeSurviveAbuse.com
