If the Silencing Isn’t for Women or Children… Then Who Is It For?

Silence is powerful. It can be sacred. Healing. Necessary for rest, prayer, and wisdom. But when silence is demanded—not chosen—when it’s forced upo

Silence is powerful.

It can be sacred. Healing. Necessary for rest, prayer, and wisdom.

But when silence is demanded—not chosen—when it’s forced upon women and children who have been harmed, we must ask: who does this silence serve?

🧩 Because if the silencing…

  • Doesn’t protect women from harm,

  • Doesn’t center the healing of Survivors,

  • Doesn’t stop abusers from accessing more victims,

  • Doesn’t restore safety, justice, or dignity,

Then what is its purpose?

💡 Silencing that does not shelter is not peacekeeping.

It is protection—but not for the wounded.
It’s shielding the abuser, not the abused.

🚩 So let’s get real:

  • Who benefits when girls are told not to speak?

  • Who feels safer when women are told to “let it go”?

  • Who keeps their power, platform, or paycheck when Survivors are told to “move on” or “forgive quietly”?

It’s not the woman shaking with shame. It’s not the child carrying secrets that break their spirit. It’s not the mother who stayed silent and lost everything.

🔥 If the silence protects the predator, the reputation, the institution, the family name, the ministry, the brand…

Then it is not holy. It is not healing. It is not love.

It is complicity, dressed in calmness.

🛑 And We Must Say:

No more silence that shelters harm.
No more unity at the cost of our daughters.
No more calls for forgiveness that forget the facts.

If the silence doesn’t make the world safer for women and children,
then it is not our silence to keep.
