There are no magic words.
No title, no role, no identity, no costume, no tone of voice, no declaration of who you claim to beâ
grants you automatic access to our bodies, our spaces, or our trust.
Yet predators have always tried to convince us otherwise.
They rely on magic wordsâphrases and identities they believe are the verbal version of open sesame to our boundaries.
They say things like:
âIâm your father.â
âIâm your stepfather.â
âIâm your teacher.â
âIâm your uncle.â
âIâm your boss.â
âIâm your faith leader.â
âIâm your coach.â
âIâm family.â
âIâm a woman now.â (even though he is still a man with full male access, entitlement, and intentions)
Each of these is spoken with the expectation that the women and children in the room will now submit, comply, trust, and agreeâwithout question.
But letâs be crystal clear:
There are NO magic words.
đš Titles Donât Equal Trust
Just because someone claims authority, closeness, or identity doesnât make them safe.
Predators count on automatic access. They count on you being polite, obedient, and silent.
But your boundaries are not public property.
They are sacred.
They are yours.
And they donât budge for magic words.
đ When âI Amâ Becomes a Demand
âI am your fatherââso you must stay silent.
âI am your bossââso you must tolerate harassment.
âI am your auntââso you must let me shame you.
âI am a woman nowââso you must accept me in your most private and vulnerable spaces.
NO.
Womanhood is not a weapon.
Spiritual leadership is not consent.
Family is not ownership.
And identity is not a hall pass.
âđœ We Owe No One Automatic Compliance
Our children donât owe anyone hugs because theyâre called “Uncle.”
Our daughters donât owe agreement because someone says theyâre a âwoman now.â
Our Survivors donât owe silence because the abuser holds a title.
Consent must be earnedânot demanded.
Trust must be builtânot assumed.
Boundaries must be respectedânot negotiated.
đŹ Tell Them the Truth:
We are done treating words like spells that force women and children to give up our power.
Your title doesnât buy silence.
Your identity doesnât erase red flags.
Your words donât override our wisdom.
At WeSurviveAbuse.com, we say this with love, strength, and certainty:
There are no magic words.
Only magic boundaries.
And those belong to US.
