Do Not Throw “Studies” in Our Face

Women know this story all too well: We raise alarms. We say, this is unsafe, this will hurt us, this will hurt our children. And what do we hear back

Women know this story all too well:

We raise alarms. We say, this is unsafe, this will hurt us, this will hurt our children. And what do we hear back?

“Don’t worry.”
“There’s no data.”
“Studies show it’s fine.”

But we’ve lived long enough to know that waiting for studies means waiting for casualties.

Women Are Never Heard Until It Is Too Late

  • Women and babies are still dying in childbirth because doctors won’t listen when women say something is wrong.

  • Police officers are murdered in pairs — ambushed, when they went to tell a man to stop abusing his relationship partner. So guess how much hell she’s been living with 24/7/365? A literal monster.

  • Families wiped out in their homes. Children murdered at their desks. Everyone knew the danger signs, but action came too late.

  • In women’s prisons, women have been raped by males placed there who declared themselves women only after committing violent crimes.

These are not hypotheticals. These are not “what ifs.” They are lived realities. While “leaders” keep walking around performing what looks like “concern” from a distance maybe.

Do Not Throw “Studies” At Us

Every time women cry out for safety, someone waves a “study” like a shield:

  • Studies that are too small, too short, too shallow.

  • Studies that ignore what women see coming.

  • Studies written while women’s voices are still being silenced, harmed, murdered, missing and never even looked for.

We don’t need more graphs and charts telling us to “calm down.”
We need people to listen to us before the damage is done.

LISTEN to Women

We are the early warning system. We see danger first. We feel it in our bones, in our daily lives, in our children’s lives. We live it.

  • When women say this is unsafe, believe us.

  • When mothers say my child is at risk, believe them.

  • When incarcerated women say we are not safe, believe them.

Because the cost of ignoring us is measured in blood, trauma, and graves.

Precaution First

Women’s spaces, children’s safety, and our most vulnerable deserve precaution before proof. If we wait for “studies” to finally acknowledge our fears, the harm has already happened.

So don’t throw “studies” in our face.
Don’t ask us to wait for more data.

LISTEN. To. Women.
