2nd Sidebar…..for all the supporters of “not this person” language that pre-shields entire groups of people, please know that for years, R. Kelly was among that group AFTER this brave woman appeared in the tape clearly violated and raped as a minor by him. She was a child then. For years people pre-shielded this man using the trending phrases and terms of the times whenever another one of his high profile peers was accused of harmful conduct with women or children.
If you mentioned another celebrity a “flying monkey” would come zooming into your social media mentions wondering why you were overlooking a rumor about this celebrity when you “failed” to “protect” R. Kelly and others. Happens all the time.
