Myth: “Women Are Safe as Long as There Are Good Men Around”
Violence Against Women Always Looks for an Inside Woman

Some men don’t define harm as what they’ve done.
They define harm as a woman’s refusal to keep quiet about it.

In this upside-down worldview, her voice becomes the villain.
Her survival becomes sabotage.
Her honesty becomes betrayal.

It’s not:
🗣️ “I caused harm, and I need to change.”

It’s:
🧍🏾‍♂️ “She’s ruining my reputation.”
🧍🏾‍♂️ “She’s making me look bad.”
🧍🏾‍♂️ “Why couldn’t she just keep it between us?”

When a man sees harm in her truth instead of in his behavior—he has not been taught to grow. He has been taught to dominate.

Growth says:
💪🏽 “I need to confront my actions.”
💪🏽 “I must do better.”
💪🏽 “This is my responsibility.”

Control says:
🤐 “You’re not allowed to talk about it.”
🤐 “You’re disloyal for telling.”
🤐 “You’re the problem now.”

And that’s why so many women—especially Black women—stay silent.
Because the world will turn her courage into cruelty.
Her honesty into harm.
Her protection into punishment.

But we say this with love and fire:

You are not wrong for refusing to carry what he refuses to heal.
You are not a villain for telling the truth.
You are not dangerous for no longer being his shield.

Let that go.

You are not here to be his cover story.
You are here to be free.

💥 We don’t protect harm. We protect the harmed.
🛑 And silence is not safety.
