This thing men do. “It’s actually those men that are the real danger.”

“No, those are the men you really need to be afraid of. “

Well most women have stories of survival where a woman protected them. Sure, your father, brother, and other men related to you protect you, but if your life depends on someone not related to you, most likely that will be a fellow female human being.

Rapper and actress Eve  shared a moment that many women in entertainment—and beyond—know far too well. At an industry party, someone tampered with her drink. Before she even realized what was happening, Janet Jackson sprang into action, protecting her like the legend she is.

We share these stories not to scare women, but because warning and awareness are still necessary in a world where this keeps happening. Still, the truth remains:
Men with platforms need to speak more loudly and more often about not doing this to women. That’s where the change must begin.

Eve shares more of her story—her survival, her growth, and her rise—in her memoir Who’s That Girl?, a testimony to the power of resilience and owning your voice as a woman in the public eye.

📚 Consider picking it up.
