Red Flag #1: If They Won’t Let You Have Privacy, They Don’t See You as Human

We are in justified rage mode, and we are not backing down. You are playing with the sacred memory of children now.

These quiet shadows are not your safe space.

Let us say this with all the fire it summoned and requires:
The memory of Emmett Till does not belong to violent, abusive men.
He was a Black child—a child—who was hunted and tortured by hateful white supremacy.

And now, in this upside-down nightmare of a discourse, there are abusive Black men invoking his name to shield themselves from accountability for trafficking, grooming, violence, abuse, and terrorizing others?

No. Hell no.

You have to be a monster in human skin to compare a woman speaking out about abuse to the white supremacist lies that led to Emmett Till’s murder.
You have to be so far gone, so detached from morality, to weaponize that child’s suffering to excuse your own cruelty.

This is a twisted, wicked inversion of truth. We see you.

Black women have endured generations of being silenced about abuse.
Whispers. Secrets. Forced apologies. Shut mouths. Unheard cries.

No more.

We will not let the legacy of one of our most sacred losses be dragged into the mud to protect men who carry out the very same terror that took Emmett’s life.

Let’s be clear:

  • Grooming is terror.

  • Human trafficking is terror.

  • Coercion, threats, surveillance, violence—that is terror.

And if you’re enacting those things, and hiding behind the image of a brutalized child to justify it,
you are not a victim. You are a cowardly agent of evil.

This is a special kind of evil—and we are naming it.
We are calling it out.
We are confronting it.
We are dismantling it.

Black women will not be manipulated into silence.
Black women will not be guilted into submission.
Black women will be free.
Black women will be safe.
And Black women will not carry the weight of someone else’s violence on our backs ever again.
