April is child abuse awareness month.
When politicians twist the language of âinclusionâ to force girls to surrender their safe spaces, they are not being progressiveâthey are being predatory.
What they are doing is not about rights.
It is not about kindness.
And it is certainly not about justice.
It is an abuse of powerâand it needs to be called what it is.
They use words like equity, tolerance, and compassion like shiny ornaments to decorate legislation that erodes the rights of girls. But make no mistake: when you strip girls of the spaces that were made to protect their growing bodies, their fragile healing, and their emerging voicesâ
you are not including them.
You are erasing them.
You are telling girls to be quiet when they are uncomfortable.
To smile when they are scared.
To give up their right to say ânoâ in the name of someone elseâs feelings.
That is not leadership.
That is coercion with a polite smile and a press release.
No girl can consent to a system that never gave her the freedom to say ânoâ in the first place.
She cannot give up her safety when she was never told it belonged to her.
She cannot give informed consent when sheâs still being taught that nice girls donât make trouble.
This is grooming language dressed up in government policy.
This is compliance culture being sold as liberation.
This is the exploitation of girlhoodâsoftened by rainbow language and passed off as progress.
And I will not be silent while it happens.
Girls have a right to private, protected spaces. Period.
Not because theyâre weak. But because theyâre growing.
Not because theyâre fragile. But because theyâre sacred.
And not because they are hatefulâbut because they are human.
This isnât about denying anyone else their dignity.
This is about defending the dignity of girls who have been overlooked, overburdened, and silenced for far too long.
To the leaders making these choices:
You are failing our daughters.
You were never elected to be brave for the loudest voices.
You were elected to protect the most vulnerable.
And right now, youâre using our girls as collateral in battles they didnât start and canât opt out of.
But let me remind you of something:
Girls have always been the beginning of every movement that mattered.
We are raising up a generation that sees clearly.
And when they riseâand they will riseâ
they will remember who stood for them when it counted.
And who didnât.
Stand up. Speak out. Defend girlhood.
This is not the time to whisper.
This is the time to roar.
Girls deserve boundaries.
Girls deserve peace.
Girls deserve to be safe.
Now and always.
