Until this country reckons with how it treats Black people—
how its systems treat Black people—
how it still treats Black women carrying chronic illness passed down through bloodlines poisoned by mistreatment and systemic abuse—
the wealthiest nation on Earth will never get a handle on violence.
You cannot punish your way out of abuse
when your systems were built by it—and still benefit from it.
You cannot end violence
while still rewarding the people and policies that deny Black communities housing, healthcare, safety, rest, and dignity.
Black women are still fighting to survive conditions created on purpose—
then blamed for not thriving.
And let’s tell the truth plainly:
Justice is not radical.
Justice is love.
Loving people means wanting better for them.
Not “us four and no more”—but everyone, forever more.
It means not hoarding safety, peace, or power.
It means repairing harm, sharing healing, and building new systems rooted in truth.
Because as the talented Robin Harris reminded us:
Love does not die—it multiplies.
And so do we.
We do not stay silent.
We do not stop liberating.
We do not stop growing peace, health, compassion, and safety.
We spread the wealth.
We spread the health.
We spread the joy.
Because that, too, is resistance.
That, too, is healing.
That, too, is what justice should feel like—for everyone.
Affirmations for Collective Liberation, Love, and Legacy
-
Love does not die—it multiplies through me. I am a vessel of peace, power, and protection.
-
I do not shrink. I expand. I grow joy, justice, and healing everywhere I go.
-
I am not a burden to be tolerated—I am a blessing with legacy in my bones.
-
I carry the prayers of those who survived what should have ended them—and I rise in their honor.
-
My voice is necessary. My presence is revolutionary. My healing is sacred.
-
I plant peace and multiply it. I plant health and multiply it. I plant joy and multiply it.
-
Justice lives in my love. Liberation lives in my compassion.
-
I deserve systems that protect me, not just the strength to survive them.
-
Every time I speak truth, I make space for someone else to breathe.
-
Even when the world denies me, I affirm myself. I am worthy. I am powerful. I am still here.
-
I do not hoard peace—I share it. I do not hide joy—I spread it. That is how I love.
-
I am part of a legacy that does not quit. We liberate. We heal. We rise. And we multiply love.
